Last weekend my sister and I went to see Breaking Dawn Part 2 in Southampton. I'm a die hard fan, but even I can admit that the movies have some fairly ridiculous moments. And this one has many.
Like when Jacob falls in love with the baby. No, actually falls in love with the baby.
Or when Bella sees her child for the first time and it's Mackenzie Foy's face photoshopped onto a mechanical infant.
Or when, after a disappointing sex scene Bella tells Edward "Wow, you really were holding out on me."
This movie is funny without even trying, and my sister and I were nudging each other in the ribs the whole time. As we were giggling in our seats, we hardly noticed that we were the loudest ones in there.
I was surprised how quiet the audience was, especially considering that the fan base mainly consists of squealing teenage girls. Usually in the US people are really responsive about what they like and don't like. When my parents went to see Freddy vs. Jason in San Francisco, one side of the audience would be screaming "CUT HIM JASON!" while the rest would be saying "KILL HIM FREDDY!" Britain, on the other hand is a different story.
Geez this fight scene is so bad.
Even when I went to the opening night of New Moon in Zurich, Jacob's entrance was met with shrieks of joy. Do Swiss people really have more enthusiasm at the movies than the British?
I'm an immigrant, so for all I know the crowd could've been having a rip roaring time at an earlier showing. Tweet @doubleyourdosag or yell at me on Facebook if I'm wrong.
