Jay-Z writing score for The Great Gatsby

Leo looks like a cheesy friend of mine courtesy of Warner Bros.

I just died.

Not only is The Great Gatsby being directed by one of my favorite directors, Baz Luhrmann (he also directed Moulin Rouge) but the score will also be co-written by my favorite rapper, Jay-Z. I am officially in heaven.

On Sunday producer-songwriter, The Bullitts announced on Twitter
"Jay-Z and myself have been working tirelessly on the score for the upcoming The Great Gatsby! It is too DOPE for words!"

Jay-Z and Kanye West's song featuring Frank Ocean, "No Church in the Wild" was already featured in the trailer. Classic Buhrmann, he'll be juxtaposing a classic with modern music. Not unlike Sofia Coppola's Post Punk soundtrack for Marie Antoinette.

After watching The Great Gatsby trailer again, I recall sitting through the 70s version with Mia Farrow in my lecture hall last year. Now this film looks like a joke compared to the beast we're going to see. Thank you Baz Luhrmann for making my dreams come true.

The Great Gatsby will open on May 10th in the U.S. and May 17th in the U.K.
